Smooth tax reporting experience

I purchased the HMRC Compliant Crypto Tax Report and also used the Portfolio Tracker. The ordering process was straightforward on their website. I connected my Binance and Coinbase accounts via API, and the data synced quickly for the most part. There were a few DeFi transactions that needed manual input, but the interface for that was intuitive enough. I particularly liked the Capital Gains Tax Report breakdown, it made understanding my liabilities much clearer. The Self Assessment Tax Return Export was a lifesaver, saved me a lot of time plugging numbers in. Customer support responded within a day when I had a question about staking rewards tracking. The multi-device sync also worked perfectly between my laptop and tablet. I felt confident submitting my taxes after using Recap.

Good report, some minor issues

I used Recap for my HMRC Compliant Crypto Tax Report this year. The report itself was clear and easy to understand, which was a huge relief. However, I did have a bit of trouble with one of my CSV data imports; it took a couple of tries to get it right. Customer service was helpful when I contacted them, but it added a little extra time to the process. Overall, it got the job done for a fair price.

Easy to use for taxes

Needed to sort out my crypto taxes for HMRC and Recap was recommended. Got the Capital Gains Tax Report. It was pretty easy to get everything linked up and the report it generated looked good. Definitely less headache than doing it all myself.

Hey guys, thinking about Recap for my crypto taxes this year. Is it actually legit for UK stuff? Like, does HMRC actually accept their reports?

A Andrew Nguyen 1 month ago
Yeah, totally. I used them last year and had no issues with my self-assessment. Their reports are pretty detailed.

They're specifically designed for UK taxes, so everything is geared towards HMRC rules. It's not some generic software.

Heard about a new customer discount for Recap? Is there a code floating around or how do you get it?

E Elizabeth Scott 3 weeks ago
Sometimes they have promo codes, but usually, it's through a referral link. Check if a friend has one.

I got a discount when I signed up for the annual plan last year. Keep an eye out around tax season, they often do deals then.

thinking about Recap vs Koinly for my UK taxes. Anyone used both and have a preference? Recap seems more UK-focused.

L Lisa Lewis 4 weeks ago
For UK users, Recap is generally better because it's built from the ground up for HMRC rules. Koinly is good too, but Recap is more tailored.

I switched from Koinly to Recap. Found Recap's reports easier to understand for UK specific things. Koinly can be a bit generic sometimes.

Is there a way to try Recap before paying for a report? Like a free tier or something?

A Amber Lewis 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they have a basic plan that's free. You can connect some exchanges and see how it works before committing to a paid report.

I think they offer a free trial too, or at least they did. You can get a feel for it before buying.

Anyone know if Recap handles all the weird DeFi stuff? Got a bunch of LP tokens and staking rewards, kinda worried about tracking all that.

K Kyle Jones 5 days ago
I had a lot of DeFi transactions too, and it seemed to track most of it. There were a few manual entries I had to do but way less than doing it all myself.

Yeah, they got good support for DeFi and NFTs now. They keep updating it, so it's gotten better over time.
